Attorney Joshua O. Dorcey founded the Dorcey Law Firm in 2007, and is the firm’s Managing Partner. He graduated from Samford University with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Communication Studies. Mr. Dorcey received his Juris Doctorate from Liberty University School of Law with a focus on Estate Planning and Transactional Services and received the award for the top transactional student in the school. He is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Alabama and has helped thousands of families establish and maintain their personal estate plan. Prior to opening the firm he worked at the premier real estate and business litigation firm in Fort Myers. Josh’s family homesteaded in southwest Florida in 1913 and he is the 4th generation of his family living in Lee County. Mr. Dorcey’s vision for Dorcey Law Firm is for the firm to be transformational and process driven with a focus on going over and above the industry standard when taking care of our clients, their families and their businesses.
Josh’s family has roots in the Fort Myers area extending back four generations. Every day, he observes the peace of mind resulting from long-term planning for the changes of life. His father’s background as a pastor and advisor, and his mother’s family’s involvement in the agricultural community of Southwest Florida show him the importance of a vision that extends beyond the individual life. These values handed down to him from his parents have guided him as he has assembled a team of professionals to provide a unique full-service experience for the clients of the Dorcey Law Firm.
Josh is the proud owner of a Boston Terrier named Peanut, who reluctantly shares him with his beautiful wife Lisa, and two adorable daughters. He sometimes has an unofficial pet alligator in his back yard. Josh is passionate about helping the children of Southwest Florida, his focus over the past few years has been The March of Dimes & Southwest Florida Children's Charities. Dorcey Law Firm supports over 50 local charities in our area.
