Associate Attorney

This position is responsible for assisting senior partners and counsel in all aspects of estate planning, business planning, asset protection, elder law, and estate administration. Provides support in the areas of research, analysis and drafting. Meets with clients to provide advice and counseling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Drafts documents, including but not limited to correspondence, wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, charitable trusts, power of attorney, healthcare power of attorney and directives, guardianship designation, estate tax documents, conservatorships, formal and informal probate administration, asset administration and trust administration.
  • May assist with business planning by drafting documents, including but not limited to, the business structure designs, business tax planning and formation of entities in the most beneficial state, as well as the customized preparation of founding documents, standard and complex operating agreements, employment agreements, commercial leases, equipment leases, loans, mortgages, asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements, top hat agreements, preparation of stock purchase agreements, as well as any and all other business contracts and agreements of which we are retained in the ordinary course of business or of which we can readily gain the competence to accept the representation ethically.
  • Conducts legal research and may attend hearings or other legal proceedings as needed, with senior attorneys.
  • Communicates with senior attorneys, paralegals and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently and timely.
  • Builds and maintains client relationships.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association (ABA) with a Juris Doctor (J.D.); degree completed with a specialization in any related field required.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Driven, focused self-starter with strong multi-tasking and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a time-sensitive, high-energy, demanding entrepreneurial environment.
